WELCOME!
Communities That Care (CTC) brings together community groups to reduce youth problem behaviors such as violence, drug and alcohol use, teenage
pregnancy, school drop-out and delinquency, and to promote positive youth development.
With funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, CTC – Capital Region focuses on building relationships between families, schools, and communities. We support students in Central Pennsylvania with the tools necessary to succeed in school and graduate prepared for life.
Communities That Care – Capital Region supports programs and activities that lead to a measured reduction in the identified risk factors that face our youth.
We also work to support protective factors – those strengths in our communities that keep young people safe and healthy. We continually measure the community’s risk and protective factors and track our progress in affecting them.
CTC is directed by the following groups/boards:
Key Leaders: our leaders who have the ability to open doors, assign community board members, and engage agencies and move the CTC initiative forward.
Community Leaders and Members: this group guides the CTC Process from the grassroots; they are community organizations, faith-based groups, families and citizens who provide the expertise of living in our communities and help to make change happen in the Central Region.
CTC Host Agency:
The vision of Communities In Schools of Pennsylvania is that every child is provided with necessary tools and skills to grow into healthy adults and members of the community.
